I visited the Faroese theater Tjóðpallur Føroya last Friday to see a play by the talented Jóanes Nielsen. The play is called ‘Havfrúgvin’ (The Mermaid) and is an original Faroese production performed on a small steel stage. ‘Havfrúgvin’ is a modern love triangle taking place in contemporary Faroese society performed beautifully by talented actors. This was a great experience, but this story has very much resemblanse to the Danish movie ‘Brødre’ (Brothers) and some elements from another Danish movie ‘Festen’ (The Celebration). I would definitely recommend others to see this play.
